Announcement from the Department of Lands.

Currently, there are scammers pretending to be buyers (or agents).

They agree to purchase properties listed online

and place a high reservation deposit.

But as the transfer date approaches,

they call to cancel

and ask for a refund of the deposit (there might have been an agreement when signing the contract).

.

However, the scammer still goes to the Department of Lands at the appointed time.

The owner/landlord, having already been informed about the cancellation,

does not show up at the scheduled time to transfer ownership.

.

This allows the scammer to request CCTV footage from the Department of Lands

to claim damages from the owner/landlord

on the grounds of breach of sales contract

for not showing up to transfer ownership as specified.

.

#How to prevent

If there is a cancellation of the transfer,

make sure to have documents or written evidence from the contracting party

confirming the cancellation.

Never cancel by phone call or verbally.

This is a notification for everyone’s awareness.

.

Nowadays, everyone is paranoid. Lol.
