Today, I attended an informal meeting
regarding the advancement of the Real Estate Broker Act.
There were discussions among all stakeholders,
including AMLO, MPs, property developers,
representatives from the Real Estate Broker Association,
and even a neighbor like myself.
.
The overall sentiment was clear—
everyone truly wants to see this happen,
as all parties are well-informed and ready.
.
For me personally,
one key missing jigsaw piece in all of this
is which agency will take the lead
in pushing this forward
and turning it into a tangible legal enforcement.
.
If we consider the current scope of responsibilities,
it would likely fall under the Department of Labour,
as they oversee professional standards directly.
Immigration, the Land Department, and AMLO
might also be involved.
.
This may not be the conclusion of the conversation,
but it's the beginning
of a hopeful journey forward.
.
The agencies are open to making it happen
and are ready to take the matter forward
once the ideas and proposals are fully crystallized.
.
Next month, another meeting will take place
with all sectors represented.
This time,
hundreds of interested participants will be welcome.
.
The aim is to open space for listening and discussion
and to drive progress that includes all voices.
As the date draws near,
I’ll promote the event again.
.
I alone
cannot make this happen.
Everyone involved must come together.
Real estate brokers are a vital force.
I hope everyone can join in.
